Justin Hawkins from THE DARKNESS phoned Radio 1 to react to news they've been nominated for two MTV "Video Music Awards". They're in the running for Best Rock Video and the Best New Artist in a Video. "I found out about that this morning, actually," he said. "There's a special piece in the Eastern Daily Press stating that my brother helped my mum with her shopping, whilst I slept — I think that was the headline. As a little subtext at the bottom of the piece, it said 'Oh yeah, and they've been nominated for two VMA awards'. It's obviously a source of great delight for all of us as it shows how many of our wonderful fans are voting for us, both in America and here."
