VOLBEAT Forced To Cancel Festival Appearances

Danish metallers VOLBEAT have cancelled their participation in the following festivals:

June 27 - Klften Festival DK
June 28 - Dessel Graspop Metal Meeting (13:00-13:40) BE
June 28 - Stukenbrock Serengeti Festival (ca. 21:00) DE

Commented VOLBEAT vocalist Michael Poulsen: "I'm in the deepest grief and saddest moment in my life. My best friend and biggest inspiration and mentor has died. My father, who taught me everything about life, died at home this morning the 27. June 2008. I'm therefore sorry to inform you that this week's festivals will not include VOLBEAT."

Austria's Mulatschag.TV recently posted a three-minute video interview with Michael Poulsen. Michael talks about his past as a substitute teacher, Elvis Presley, METALLICA, and what rock and roll is really about. Watch the footage below.

VOLBEAT's forthcoming third album, "Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood", was recorded at Hansen studio in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen and contains 13 songs, seven of which share a common lyrical theme that will also be incorporated into the LP's artwork.
