Robert Plant has released the latest episode of his new podcast. "Digging Deep: The Robert Plant Podcast" is available on iTunes, Spotify, Acast, YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts. In the first episode of "Digging Deep" series 2, the LED ZEPPELIN frontman discusses the creation of the "Mighty ReArranger" album with STRANGE SENSATION.
"Mighty ReArranger" was Plant's eighth solo album and the second with his band STRANGE SENSATION. It was released in April 2005. The album's first single, "Shine It All Around", was a hit at rock radio, with both fans and critics acknowledging Plant's return to form. The Los Angeles Times said at the time: "Robert Plant is a rarity: an epic classic-rock figure who's less interested in his past than in the next new thing... He remains at his best when somehow combining both sides of his musical soul, stepping forward while looking back, still steeped in blues and mysticism while remaining an active man of tomorrow. Plant had one of the most distinctive voices of the '70s. And albums like this should remind fans he's worth hearing once again."
Plant has spent the last two decades exploring different sounds, from "Raising Sand" to 2017's world music-influenced "Carry Fire".
In concert, Plant and the SENSATIONAL SPACE SHIFTERS often perform a cosmic, bluesy rendition of LED ZEPPELIN's "Black Dog", and also run through ZEPPELIN's "The Lemon Song", "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and a rendition of "Whole Lotta Love" that integrates the Willie Dixon-penned blues classic "I Just Want To Make Love To You".
