ZAKK WYLDE Goes To Prison

Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE) took part in a solo performance and question-and-answer session earlier today (Tuesday, December 1) at Singapore's Changi Prison Complex.

According to The Straits Times, Wylde, 42, put on a half-hour show and gave the 40 inmates gathered in the prison's Performing Arts Training Centre's auditorium pointers on how to be good musicians.

"You need to find someone who's better than you to show you the basics," said Wylde, who thrilled the group with his mastery, including a few searing leads off VAN HALEN's "Eruption".

On speaking to the inmates, he later told The Straits Times, "It seemed like the right thing to do since my first gig with Ozzy was in a prison."

As a loyal user of Gibson guitar, Wylde is currently promoting to music fans in Asia-Pacific (including Japan, China, Singapore, and Australia) Gibson's new models and the Epiphone guitars named after him. Moreover, Zakk will teach fans guitar-playing skills in person.

Wylde commented: "When Gibson Guitar CEO Henry Juszkiewicz outlined his plan to introduce my signature product line in China and the company's commitment, I made it mine, too.

"It's going to be a blast to meet new fans.

"The world is a much larger place than just the U.S.

"I have no doubt that this trip and meeting these fans will be inspiration for the next BLACK LABEL SOCIETY CD.

"How many people get to go from Tokyo to The Great Wall, Singapore to Sydney. I'm truly blessed and I want to thank Gibson and Epiphone for this opportunity to further secure BLS world domination!"
